ACCESSIBILITY:
Both entrances to the building are not automatic and must be unlocked by staff in order for non-staff members to enter the premises.
Front door: There are four stairs leading up to the front door. The stoop outside of the front door is small and the front door swings out externally, which may be challenging for a person that is not able to stand balanced independent of supporting structures.
Back door: Accessible through the back alley. There are cars usually parked in front of the doorway which may limit wheelchair access to the door. The door swings open internally. The space inside of the door can be narrow due to placement of food pantry items, but objects can be moved with advanced notice to create a 4’ pathway.
There is single stall inclusive wheelchair accessible washroom that is 7 x 5ft (2.1 x 1.5m). The door is not automatic and swings internally. The sink is 32 inches (0.8m) high and is activated with an upward lever.
COVID-19 POLICY:
JQT strictly follows the recommendations of Vancouver Coastal Health and makes decisions accordingly. JFS follows a communicable disease prevention strategy. Mask wearing is optional, but encouraged in group settings and to protect those in our circles who are immunocompromised.
